Welcome. My name is Tiff Martindale.

For as long as I can remember, I have believed that connection, hope, and healing can come from sharing one’s story in a safe space. My own lived experiences have given me meaningful insight into the bravery and courage that it takes to show up for a therapy session. But it's not just about showing up; it's about the strength to share honestly and vulnerably. This strength within you can be a powerful tool for healing and gaining better control over the life you deserve.

My previous career and educational experiences form the foundation of my person-centred approach to assisting clients in achieving their therapeutic goals through self-compassion, enhanced self-awareness, mindfulness in daily life, and individualized psychoeducation, with a focus on the mind-body connection. I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Grief Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Self-Compassion Therapy, Dignity Therapy, and training in women’s mental health.

I strive to create a space for my clients where they can feel seen, heard, and safe as they explore all versions of themselves and to help them feel comfortable and confident as they take steps towards a more peaceful, healed, and fulfilled life. My services are currently available to individuals who are 16 years of age and older.

On a personal note, I’m a mother of two daughters, a wife for over 16 years, a lifelong learner, a revived and less than mediocre athlete, an animal parent and lover, a wearer of denim and hats, and an adopter of many new and random hobbies.

I believe in the power of living purposefully. We may find ourselves in situations in life where we can’t change everything... but we can change something, even something small.

I look forward to getting to know you.

Education

2005

Bachelor of Human Kinetics (Movement Science Major, Psychology Minor)
University of Windsor

2007

Master of Human Kinetics (Human Performance Major)
University of Windsor

My background in health science gives me a strong understanding of the biological and physical factors that influence mental health and overall well-being. I recognize the important connection between the body and mind, including the impact of stress, sleep, hormones, nervous system regulation, physical health, and movement on emotional wellness. This perspective allows me to approach therapy holistically, considering both the psychological and physiological experiences that shape how we feel, cope, and heal.

2009

Bachelor of Education
University of Windsor

2013

PhD in Educational Studies -Cognition and Learning *coursework completed
University of Windsor

My background in education has given me insight into the many factors that shape mental health across different stages of life. Through working with individuals in learning and developmental environments, I’ve developed an understanding of how relationships, stress, self-esteem, life experiences, family dynamics, and social expectations can influence emotional well-being. This perspective helps me approach therapy with compassion, curiosity, and an appreciation for each person’s unique experiences and strengths.

2022

Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology
Yorkville University

The Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology provided me with a stronger foundation in psychology, trauma-informed care, and human development. Through this training, I gained a deeper understanding of the diverse life experiences, challenges, and resilience that shape each person’s mental health journey.
